We are two professionals, father and son looking to purchase businesses where the owner May be retiring or simply wants to sell. Our backgrounds are both from oil and gas. The main investor background and has run several businesses, with up to 400 employees. Along with his oil and gas background, he also has a large portfolio of real estate and successful businesses. We are looking for a business with a good history and excellent growth prospects. We are interested in a business where the owner is looking to retire in the near future and would like to sell 100% of the business in one transaction, or perhaps spread it out over time. There would generally be a need for the owner to stay long enough to make the transition. We will do extensive due diligence, so the owner needs to be willing and able to provide adequate information. At the same time, nothing will be received by us until a comprehensive non-disclosure agreement is signed, to protect you. We are comfortable with an asset deal or share sale (given proper valuations). We are not interested in franchises, start ups or any business less than two years old. Restaurants, pubs or most fast food would not be of interest, nor would any “luxury” personal services businesses like spas, massage clinics, etc. We will do distress situations. The business needs to be located in Calgary or surrounding areas. Ideally the owner will have a layer of management in place that can run the business. Could be negotiated to transition away, but would prefer turn key operations. We can do initial assessments quite quickly, and are definitely not looking to waste your time, or ours. Purchase price range that we are comfortable with is $500,000 to $10,000,000.
