Gorgeous custom sailboat for sale. Bob Finch, the man responsible for designing one of the most popular sailboats in NA, the Catalina built himself a custom sailboat for him and his family. Mr Finch, designed and built this boat to go around the world. The interior custom woodwork is like no other. Photos do not do it justice. We purchased the vessel as a live aboard and have thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with her on the water. Our family is expanding however and thus need to look for other options. Its a traditional hull design, deep and narrow, features a raking transom stern, a vertical stem, and a long bowsprit. Excellent Diesel engine (Isuzu Pisces), the boat is strip plank constructed wooden hull with epoxy (cold-mold constructed), 47' LOA, beam = 15 ', Dickinson diesel heater, steel fin keel (draft 6 feet), three water holding tanks, copious sails w/ furling jib, windlass anchor, two heads, dual sinks, great storage, a separate shower stall in the head and lots of opening ports give light to the beautiful main salon, plenty of sleeping room(full aft berth, v berth, couches etc.), the aft berth was replaced in 2020 with a mould-resistant mattress, has very strong sailing characteristics in both light and heavy air, she has an incredible layout and lots of rich wood below, leather inlaid chart table, a 3-burner propane stove and oven, and extensive storage for provisioning, zincs are constantly replaced, a ton of hanging closet space. The exterior of the boat could use some love - the dodger needs to be finished, brightwork etc. We had the boat pulled last summer, 2020, for regular professional maintenance. The hull is scrubbed clean once or twice a year. More photos available upon request.
